A graduate of the Romanos Melikian Superior Music School,
in Yerevan, Armenia, he has given several concerts throughout the world (in Europe, Canada, Asia) as a soloist and in duos
and quartets. He has also performed at music festivals in Russia and Belgium, and has cooperated in the recording of several
discs. Vartan has a great interest for traditional music of different origins. His encounter with Tigran was the catalyst
for a fruitful collaboration that resulted in the creation of the group and its first recording.
Jean Marc Finn - Flute
As holder of a Diplome Supérieur for Flute from the class
of Marc Grauwels, Jean-Marc Finn honed his skills with Patrick Gallois and James Galway and worked together with numerous
orchestras (TRM Mons, RTBF, the Brussels Festival Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Belgique, the Orchestre Philharmonique
de Luxembourg), as well as taking part in tours in Europe and Africa. Solo piccolo flute at the Belgian Air Force’s
Music from 1984 to 1987, he has recorded many records with the singer Theo Mertens. He has given recitals in duos, trios and
quartets and has participated in the performance of romantic and baroque pieces. As a studio musician, he has participated
in improvisation sessions for advertising concepts. As well as having created the concerto « D’air et de Lumière » of
Luc Henrion, he is teacher at the academies of Rixensart, Schaebeek and Marchienne-au-Point (Belgium).
Gohar Baloyan - Dance
Gohar
has danced with the "E. Saharouni"
dance ensemble,
under the direction of K. Markarian, since the age of six, to
participate in many modern and folk dance festivals.
Today,
Gohar choreographs and dances for the band "Arax."
Arevik Martirossian - Dance
After
studying classical dance,
Arevik continued her training at the "Art Dramatique" in
Paris.
She has
appeared in several theatrical plays and
movies.
Having
met the band members of "Arax,"
Arevik's interest in dance has taken new flight..

Dominique
Peynsaert -
Cello
Received
her Master Dergee at the Antwerp Conservatoire in the Cello class of Ilia Laporev. She played in all the most
important concert halls in Belgium
with different youth orchestras and made also tours in different European countries. Was Solist with the ‘Jeune
Philharmonie’ in 2003, in a contemporary project with F. Rathé. She was invited several times to play for the Royal
family in Laken, memoriam Roy Boudewijn and the funeral of Princess Liliane. Obtained a 2nd price for the competition
‘Promotie voor de Vlaamse muziek en musicus’ in Gent with the PeynsART string quartet in
November 2003. Played in the string quintet ‘Oberon’ and made the recording for the movie ‘Team Spirit2’
in November 2003. Dominique plays now as a freelance cellist in the 'Nationaal orkest van Belgie', en 'Vlaams Radio Orkest'.
Renato, the
multi instrumentalist, born in
Rio brought up in São Paulo,
started to play percussion and
piano when he was just four years
old. His musical education
started at six with maestro
Silvio Tancredi,
progressing on to study drums and
piano concentrating on Brazilian
popular music at
Zimbo Trio’s School, The
CLAM. He also studied classical
piano with Professor
Leda Maria Chacur Alves,
as well as harmony, composition
and conducting at Santa Marcelina
Arts University. Renato was self-
taught in a majority of his
percussion techniques and created
new techniques (melodically) for
traditional instruments, for
example, the moringa (clay pot).
He is also known to have applied
kitchen utensils as percussion
instruments and has been
considered ONE OF THE BEST
PERCUSSIONISTS IN THE COUNTRY and
a
renewer of the Brazilian
percussion by the
specialized media
Tigran Ter Stepanian -
Guitar
Is holder of a Master Degree in Classical Guitar
at the Brussels Royal Conservatoire, in the class of Odair Assad. He has given many concerts as a classical soloist and has
collaborated with various orchestras. He has participated in several music festivals in Armenia, Russia, Belgium, France and
the USA. He has also arranged the majority of the works of the composer-singer-poet R. Hakhverdian, with whom he has recorded
several discs. The rigor of his classical musical education and his passion for traditional music have led him to create a
subtle mix and a harmonious encounter between these two musical genres.
